2026 Draft eligible twins have come onto the radar for Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin and other clubs around the National Hockey League.

“The last-place team will have just a 27.1 per cent chance to land the first overall pick and a 19.8 per cent chance at picking second.” Rob Williams of Daily Hive said.

He added, “Because the first two picks are the only two selections awarded via the lottery, the maximum number of spots the 32nd team can fall is two. That makes the odds of picking third overall 53.1 per cent.”

2026 NHL Draft eligible twins come onto the radar for the Vancouver Canucks

Back in 1999, the last time the Vancouver Canucks held a pick in the top-three, the organization selected twins that would go on to become two of the greatest players in franchise history – Daniel and Henrik Sedin.

The Ruck twins, who are from Osoyoos, British Columbia, had a lot of eyes on them at the 2026 Western Hockey League Top Prospects game last week, according to NHL insider Rick Dhaliwal and could become an option for Patrik Allvin in June.

In their mid-term rankings, National Hockey League Central Scouting had Liam Ruck at 26th among North American skaters, while his brother Markus came in at 31st, signalling that they could be early second round picks in this year’s draft.

After winning a WHL championship last season, the Ruck twins have taken their game to another level this season, with Liam registering 82 points (34 goals, 48 assists) in 56 games, while Markus has countered with 80 points (16 goals, 64 assists).

Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin currently holds two picks in the first round, but if he’s able to add another before the trade deadline next Friday, perhaps the organization can have the opportunity to bring in the Ruck twins, who could be middle six forwards for the club in the years to come.
