Dear Ontario Reign and Hockey Royalty fans,

As many of you know, the Ontario Reign season came to an end on Saturday night with their Game Two loss to the San Jose Barracuda. With that, my third full season (3.5 if you count the second half of the 2021-22 season) covering the Reign for Hockey Royalty is officially in the books.

Before I get to the handful of kind messages I’ve received over the past 24 hours, I want to take a moment to express my own gratitude to a few people who made this season possible.

First, I want to thank Jared Shafran and the Ontario Reign for granting me a full-season credential pass for this year. It’s not something I take for granted. I’m very thankful I was allowed to attend more Reign games and bring an in-game analysis and post-game analysis from player and coach media availabilities.

Next, I owe a thank you to Hockey Royalty’s own Russell Morgan, Joe Patarino, and, even though he is no longer with the Hockey Royalty website, Ryan Sikes. If it weren’t for these three, I wouldn’t be here today. For them to bring me on board with no experience in January of 2022 is something I will always be grateful for.

Finally, I want to address the small handful of thank yous I have received over the past 24 hours. Thank you for following along all season! I appreciate your support. However, there are some areas I need to improve at and get better for the 2025-26 season, and that is what I plan to do this offseason. Like every season in the AHL, new faces will be on the team, and prospects will make their way to the professional level, but I’ll still be around until Hockey Royalty tells me no more.

Keep an eye out for player season reviews within the coming weeks.

Thank you,

Kyle
