TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Professional roller hockey is skating into Toledo this summer.
The Huntington Center will play host to a new summer league starting in July, arena leaders announced.
A news conference is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday.
The league will run a pilot season of 21 dates, beginning July 10 and concluding Aug. 15. Four teams will compete in 18 regular season games, two semifinals and a championship game.
The arena said in a news release that the league will feature minor league players and coaches, including names Toledo fans will recognize.
All team names will be locally based. The public is being asked to help name two of the four teams, with submissions accepted on the league’s website and social media channels. Winners will receive a prize pack and a jersey from their named team.
Tickets will be available to First In Line Members starting at noon Wednesday, Feb. 25, through Friday, Feb. 27, at 4 p.m. General public season ticket sales begin Friday, Feb. 27, at 10 a.m. Single-game tickets will not be available until after April 1 on a first-come, first-served basis.
Ticket pricing, corporate sponsorship information and additional details on how to get involved with the league will be released Wednesday at noon on the league’s website and social media channels.
