Blackhawks captain Nick Foligno scores 250th NHL goal (3rd this season) vs. Utah Mammoth.

Chicago Blackhawks captain Nick Foligno reached a major career milestone Sunday, scoring his 250th NHL goal in a victory over the Utah Mammoth.

The veteran forward, in his 3rd season with Chicago, struck midway through the second period, putting the Blackhawks up 2-0. Foligno’s tally showcased his trademark grit: battling to the front of the net, and finding a puck that he eventually shot past the Mammoth netminder for a captain’s special.

While it has been a down year for the Blackhawks captain by career standards, he has been limited to just 36 games played due to injuries that forced him to miss a significant portion of the season.

Foligno’s goal was part of a four-goal effort for the Blackhawks, who went on to defeat Utah 4-0.
