The Toronto Maple Leafs will be selling before the NHL trade deadline. So too will be the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Leafs and Flyers clashed Monday night in Toronto, and at least 12 teams sent scouts to the game to keep an eye on key targets.

The Buffalo Sabres sent four scouts for the short trip across the border.

The Maple Leafs have a bunch of available pieces, led by expiring contracts like Bobby McMann and Scott Laughton.

The Flyers’ most notable trade chip appears to be the lanky Rasmus Ristolainen, who has previously been linked to a reunion with the Sabres.

In-person scouting like this isn’t what it used to be, but clearly, these teams still value it enough to get eyes on players before the deadline. It’ll be interesting to see what moves might come out of this.
