Nashville Predators News & Notes:

The Predators enter play Tuesday four points behind the Edmonton Oilers for the second Wild Card spot in the Western Conference with a game in hand. With the trade deadline closing in, it will be interesting to see which direction the Predators go, as the Oilers just added Connor Murphy to solidify their blueline on Monday. The Predators lost their last game 4-2 to the Red Wings on Monday night at home. In their previous five games, they have a 1-2-2 record with four points. The Predators have scored an average of three goals per game and have conceded 3.8 goals per game during their last five. This will be the second meeting of the season against the Blue Jackets, with the Predators winning the first meeting 2-1 back on October 9th.

Columbus Blue Jackets News & Notes:

The Blue Jackets are three points behind the Boston Bruins for the second Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference, but have the Washington Capitals a point ahead of them. The Blue Jackets and Bruins both have played 59 games this season, while the Capitals have played 62. They won their last game 5-4 in overtime against the Rangers on Monday. In their previous five games, they have a 3-1-1 record, adding seven points to their total. Columbus has scored an average of 3.4 goals per game while allowing 2.4 during these last five games.
