WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Utah Mammoth begins a five-game road trip in the nation’s capital city, taking on NHL all-time leading goal-scorer Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals.
The Capitals (31-24-7, 69 points) are playing host to the Mammoth (31-25-4, 66 points) at Capital One Arena on Tuesday, March 3.
Utah looks to find its groove after a frustrating, 4-0 shutout loss against the woeful Chicago Blackhawks to begin March. The Mammoth are tied with the Edmonton Oilers for the two Western Conference Wild Card spots.
They hold a four-point lead over the San Jose Sharks, Nashville Predators, and Los Angeles Kings.

a long initial shift for Utah’s third line but a really positive one as they got pucks in deep, won battles, and generated a dangerous chance.
Yamamoto strong along the boards to sustain possession.

Beauvillier absorbed an absolute blast from Durzi near the blue line. Stayed down for a minute and then hobbled to the bench.

A dominant period for the Mammoth until that late penalty.
They refused to allow the Caps any room to breathe as they suffocated them on the forecheck and quickly generated dangerous chances.
First few minutes of the second will be critical for both squads. https://t.co/TihWFwos0F

Third Period
Utah has been just a bit careless with the puck over the last few minutes. Coverage hasn’t been as good either.
Need to clean that up and kill this power play. Washington is pounding on the door. https://t.co/HOByLQwSwc
