Two members of UWS men’s hockey join the SPHL’s Peoria Rivermen

While the campaign may be over for UW-Superior men’s hockey, a pair of teammates are staying together to begin their professional careers. Carson Riddle and Tyler Ryder have both joined the Peoria Rivermen of the SPHL.

Riddle played 60 games with the Yellowjackets and scored 13 goals, which included a team-high eight this season. During his pro debut on Feb. 27, the Michigan native recorded an assist early in the first period.

Meanwhile, Ryder spent four years with the Jackets where he suited up in 98 games and blocked 72 shots. Along with Riddle, the defenseman joins his brother, Terry, who also played UWS in 2023.

Ryder notched his first goal in that contest as well, which came on a power play late in the opening frame.

The duo join fellow Yellowjackets Chris Ishmael and Dusty Bergstrom as members of the team who have recently signed with the SPHL.
