Ethan Belchetz’s season with the Windsor Spitfires is in jeopardy after breaking his left clavicle this week.

The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) team announced the injury Wednesday.

The six foot five inch power forward will get surgery and has been sidelined for an “indefinite period of time,” according to the Spitfire.

“Ethan is an important part of our team both on and off the ice,” said Bill Bowler, Windsor’s general manager.

“While this is a tough setback, we know Ethan will attack the rehab process with the same commitment and professionalism he brings every day. Our entire organization is behind him.”

Belchetz, who was taken first overall in the 2024 OHL draft, is widely considered a top 10 pick for the NHL draft this summer.

At the time of his injury, he lead the Spitfires with 34 goals.

Windsor has already qualified for the playoffs and has 8 regular season games remaining.
