NHL insider and trusted source, Elliotte Friedman drops bombshell about how Quinn Hughes‘ uncertain future and the issues that took place with Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller this have completely deterred free-agents from signing in Vancouver.
The 2024-2025 Vancouver Canucks season was one for the record books, but not for the good reasons as the entire year was filled with more injuries, drama, rumors and lack of production than ever before.
With that in mind, the Canucks are desperate to fill some major holes up front and on their blue line so this season is not repeated, but NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman confirms it will be way harder than expected.
Friedman went on a all thing Canucks podcast hosted by Thomas Drance and Rick Dhaliwal with the Vancouver Athletic to discuss the Canucks season and future.
The highlight was when he delivered a discouraging message to Canucks fans stating that basically no free-agent wants to sign in Vancouver.
The reason has to do with two main things, the culture and highly publicized drama that took place between former teammates Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller has really deterred interest from players.
