The St. Louis Blues traded a pair of veteran pieces, sending captain Brayden Schenn to the New York Islanders and defenceman Justin Faulk to the Detroit Red Wings.
The Islanders are sending back a first-round pick, a third-round pick, forward Jonathan Drouin and goaltending prospect Marcus Gidlof, while the Red Wings are sending St. Louis a 2026 first and a 2026 third in addition to defenceman Justin Holl and forward prospect Dmitri Buchelnikov in exchange for Faulk.
Schenn waived his no-move clause to facilitate the deal to New York.
According to The Athletic’s Andy Strickland, the pick the Blues are getting from the Islanders belongs to the Colorado Avalanche from the Brock Nelson deal last year.
