Following an uneventful Trade Deadline for the Bruins, they came out to a 3-1 victory over the Washington Capitals yesterday at the TD Garden. The Boston Bruins are fighting for a Wild Card berth in the Eastern Conference, with a hungry Columbus Blue Jackets just two points behind them.

The Penguins face the similar foe chasing them in the standings, the Columbus Blue Jackets. While Pittsburgh is in the Metropolitan Division, they are currently 3rd in the standings, with 76 points. The Detroit Red Wings hold Wild Card 1 with 77 points. A nice advantage for the Penguins. Columbus can find a similar advantage if they were to catch the Penguins and jump over the tough Atlantic Division Wild Card opponents.
