BOSTON — Alex Nedeljkovic made 37 saves, and the San Jose Sharks beat the Boston Bruins 4-2 at TD Garden on Thursday.
Tyler Toffoli, William Eklund, and Michael Misa each had a goal and an assist for the Sharks, who snapped their three-game losing streak. Collin Graf also scored for the first time in his hometown of Boston.
Fraser Minten and David Pastrnak scored for the Bruins, who had a 13-game home winning streak come to an end. Jeremy Swayman made 24 saves.
The Sharks had to dress an emergency backup goalie for the second time this season, as Yaroslav Askarov was unable to dress after suffering an injury this morning. University of New Hampshire goalie Kyle Chauvette was signed to an ATO and served as the backup.
The Sharks spread their scoring, scoring two even-strength goals, a power-play goal, and a shorthanded goal.
With the win, the San Jose Sharks jump the Seattle Kraken, for the time being, into the second Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.
Misa put the Sharks up 1-0 at 5:57 of the first period. Toffoli sprung Misa and William Eklund on a two-on-one, and the duo used a pretty passing play to get Swayman moving and out of the net.
Toffoli put the Sharks up 2-0 with a power play goal at 14:15 of the second period. Macklin Celebrini fanned on a one-timer, but then his wrist-shot was stopped by Swayman, and ricocheted off Toffoli and in.
Graf put the Sharks up 3-0 with a shorthanded goal at 3:13 of the third period. Alexander Wennberg sprung Graf for a breakaway, and his wrist shot beat Swayman over the glove.
Eklund put the Sharks up 4-0 at 8:20 with a spectacular solo goal.
Minten got the Bruins on the board to make it 4-1, 10 seconds later, after his wrist shot slid under the pad of Nedeljkovic.
Pastrnak scored a one-timer by the glove of Nedeljkovic to make it 4-2 with 53 seconds left.
