The Chicago Blackhawks have now won back-to-back contests vs the Utah Mammoth. With the win, Chicago has completed the sweep of Utah.
The Chicago Blackhawks defeat the Utah Mammoth in Salt Lake City. Connor Bedard and Frank Nazar led the way in another come-from-behind win versus the Mammoth.
Deja Vú
Just two days ago, the Utah Mammoth and the Chicago Blackhawks lined up against each other in the United Center. In the contest, Chicago pulled out a 3-2 victory after being down by a goal, with Frank Nazar recording the overtime winner.
And on Thursday, nearly the same thing occurred. Down by a goal in the third, Frank Nazar just took the lead in the game instead of winning it for the Chicago Blackhawks. In overtime, Connor Bedard would be the one to tally the winner. After Alex Vlasic’s shot went wide, Connor Bedard put home the rebound to win the game. After 98 could be seen jawing with some fans, a trend in tonight’s game.
Spencer Knight Returns With a “Dub”
After missing the last four games for the Chicago Blackhawks, Spencer Knight worked back into the crease for the matchup on Thursday. And it was like he never left the pipes for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Utah pelted Spencer with 31 shots on net. Breakaways, one-timers, every possible chance was thrown at the net. Despite it all, Knight stood tall. “The Red Knight” finished the game with a .935 save percentage and only let two goals in the victory for the Chicago Blackhawks.
Frank the Tank Keeps Rolling
Don’t let Frank Nazar get hot now. Over the last five games, Frank Nazar has recorded a point in every contest. Tonight, he continued the streak with a goal and an assist in the overtime victory for the Chicago Blackhawks. It was a rough stretch for the Michigan product prior.
Since Halloween, Nazar has dealt with scoring droughts and injuries, keeping him off the box score. However, over the last two weeks, Frank Nazar looks like the player we saw at the start of the year for this young Chicago Blackhawks team.
The BertBoard Strikes Again
Tyler Bertuzzi and Connor Bedard go together like peanut butter and jelly. Tyler Bertuzzi maintains his lead in goals for the Chicago Blackhawks, scoring his 28th of the season. The method that has worked has been Bertuzzi’s chemistry with Connor Bedard. On the power play, Bedard found a strong-handed Bertuzzi backside who uses his frame and net front presence to carve out an opening. It’s been a mutually beneficial relationship as Bertuzzi leads the Hawks in goals, and Bedard leads in assists for the red, black, and white.
Bring Out the Brooms
The Chicago Blackhawks and Utah Mammoth have officially completed their season series. And Chicago absolutely dominated the Mammoth. For the first time since 2016-17, the Chicago Blackhawks have swept a divisional opponent. The team that had last had this honor was the Dallas Stars, who were outscored by Chicago 17-11 that season. This season, Utah was thrashed by the Blackhawks, being outscored 13-7 by the boys from the Windy City. Connor Bedard mentioned after the game, “Anytime you can sweep a team its nice.”
The Chicago Blackhawks will look to carry the momentum of two straight wins into their next contest vs the Vegas Golden Knights. Puck drop will be at 9 p.m. CT from Sin City.
