PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Kirill Marchenko scored his 25th goal and then won it in the shootout as the Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 on Saturday night.

Marchenko opened the scoring on a wrist shot 4:21 into the first period. The Flyers answered later in the period when Alex Bump tied it on a tip with 9:36 left.

After the game went to a shootout, Marchenko lifted a backhander over Dan Vladar in the third round to secure the win for Columbus.

The victory extended the Blue Jackets’ points streak to nine games as they fight Detroit for the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. Columbus is 5-0-4 during the streak.

Jet Greaves made 18 saves for the Blue Jackets. Vladar stopped 27 shots for the Flyers.

Columbus will host Carolina on Tuesday night at Nationwide Arena.
