Ty Gallagher has emerged as an offensive weapon in the Boston Bruins’ prospects pool with his first pro hat trick and a five-point week. 

The Providence Bruins are continuing their run; they have already clinched a playoff spot and now rank first in the league. 

College conference tournaments are entering the semifinals, and the 16-team NCAA tournament bracket will be revealed on March 22 at 3:00 PM ET. There are still Bruins’ prospects playing in the tournaments, and many helped their teams reach the semifinals. 

Ryan Walsh had a four-point week, and James Hagens had a three-point game. 

The Maine Mariners’ win streak snapped at 11; they won two of three this past week and bounced back on Saturday with a Bruins’ prospect in net. 

And the prospect pool is down two members, Dalton Bancroft and Massimo Rizzo, who were traded to the Predators on Thursday. 

Here’s a look at how the Bruins’ prospects are performing across the rest of the pool:

NCAA

Forwards

Andre Gasseau, Boston College: GP: 22, G: 6, A: 16, Pts: 22; +/-: -1, PIM: 6

Gasseau did not register a point in BC’s win over Maine on Friday. The Bruins have until August 15, 2026, to sign the BC captain. 

James Hagens, Boston College: GP: 33, G: 23, A: 22, Pts: 45; +/-: +11, PIM: 24

Hagens led BC and the Hockey East in goals and points this season. He continued to add to his point streak, increasing it to 13 with 22 points in that span (12-10–22). He had a three-point night against Maine, tallying two goals, one being an empty-netter, and an assist. 

Beckett Hendrickson, Minnesota: GP: 36, G: 7, A: 13, Pts: 20; +/-: +5, PIM: 18

Hendrickson recorded an assist in Minnesota’s Big 10 tournament loss to Penn State. The Golden Gophers’ season is over. 

Oskar Jellvik, Boston College: GP: 8, G: 2, A: 1, Pts: 3; +/-: -3, PIM: 2

Jellvik scored his second goal since returning to the lineup on February 27, giving BC a three-goal lead in their 5-0 win against Maine. 

The Bruins have until August 15, 2026, to sign Jellvik.

Dean Letourneau, Boston College: GP: 35, G: 20, A: 17, Pts: 37; +/-: +10, PIM: 22

Letourneau picked up an empty net goal and an assist in BC’s shutout win over Maine on Friday. He went from zero goals freshman year to 20 in his sophomore campaign, and his 37 points are second on BC. 

Will Moore, Boston College: GP: 32, G: 4, A: 6, Pts: 10; +/-: -6, PIM: 0

Moore did not register a point on Friday. He skated as the fourth line left wing.

Jonathan Morello, Boston University: GP: 36, G: 6, A: 7, Pts: 13; +/-: +6, PIM: 18

Morello’s season came to a close this week; he did not register a point in the two games. BU beat Vermont to advance to the quarterfinal, but then lost to UConn two days later.

Casper Nässén, Miami (OH): GP: 36, G: 6, A: 12, Pts: 18; +/-: -5, PIM: 6

Nässén’s sophomore season ended after a loss to Denver in the first round of the NCHC tournament last week. 

Chris Pelosi, Quinnipiac: GP: 33, G: 17, A: 16, Pts: 33; +/-: +8, PIM: 12

After a week off, the Bobcats were upset by the Clarkson Golden Knights, who beat them 2-0 in a best-of-three. Pelosi picked up an assist in the second game during a late Quinnipiac comeback attempt. 

Cole Spicer, Western Michigan: GP: 11, G: 3, A: 2, Pts: 5; +/-: +4, PIM: 6

Spicer did not register a point in Western Michigan’s NCHC semifinal loss to Denver. The Broncos are ranked No. 4 and will head to the NCAA tournament. 

Ryan Walsh, Cornell: GP: 31, G: 9, A: 22, Pts: 31; +/-: +9, PIM: 33

After a week off, Walsh returned and posted four points in the best-of-three series. He scored a power play goal on Sunday and had three assists in the three games. 

Cornell will play Princeton in the ECAC semifinals on Saturday at 5:00 PM. 

Will Zellers, North Dakota: GP: 35, G: 18, A: 12, Pts: 30; +/-: Even, PIM: 27

Zellers did not register a point in North Dakota’s 5-1 loss to Minnesota-Duluth. They are currently ranked No. 2 and will advance to the NCAA tournament. 

Defensemen

Elliott Groenewold, Quinnipiac: GP: 38, G: 6, A: 13, Pts: 19; +/-: +38, PIM: 22

Groenewold’s plus-38 rating is the highest in college hockey. He was also named to the ECAC First Team All-Conference.

Quinnipiac is projected as a No. 3 seed and was labeled “rock solid” for a tournament bid. 

Kristian Kostadinski, Boston College: GP: 33, G: 0, A: 3, Pts: 3; +/-: +6, PIM: 2

Kostadinski recorded his first point since January 23 in BC’s win over Maine on Friday. 

BC will head to the TD Garden for a Hockey East semifinal game against UConn on Friday. 

Mason Langenbrunner, Harvard: GP: 32, G: 2, A: 8, Pts: 10; +/-: -5, PIM: 16

Langenbrunner did not make it to the scoresheet during Harvard’s three-game series against Cornell. Langenbrunner’s season, as well as his college career, has come to a close. The Bruins have until August 15, 2026, to sign him. 

Goaltenders

Phillip Svedebäck, Providence: GP: 18, Record: 8-6-2; GAA: 2.32, SV%: .918

Svedebäck suffered an injury earlier this season, but for Providence’s senior night, he came out to end the game with his teammates.

Providence was the No. 1 seed, but lost in the Hockey East quarterfinals to Merrimack. They are projected to be a 2-seed at the tournament. 

EUROPE

Forwards

Kirill Yemelyanov, Loko Yaroslavl (RUS-MHL): GP: 54, G: 30, A: 25, Pts: 55; +/-: +38, PIM: 42

Yemelyanov, the Bruins’ sixth-round pick last summer, is maintaining his points-per-game pace. He added two assists this week. 

Yemelyanov and Loko Yaroslavl play twice this week: Monday at 12:00 PM and Saturday at 6:00 AM. The games will be streamed on YouTube

Defensemen

Vashek Blanár, HV71 U20 (SWE-Nationell): GP: 30, G: 5, A: 10, Pts: 15; +/-: -12, PIM: 57

Blanár will play for Greg Carvel at UMass in the fall. HV71 U20 ranked No. 9 and did not make the Nationell playoffs. 

Liam Pettersson, Växjö U20 (SWE-Nationell): GP: 19, G: 5, A: 6, Pts: 11; +/-: +4, PIM: 8

Växjö U20 is tied in a best-of-five series with Frölunda U20, 1-1. But Pettersson has not dressed in either game. 

USHL/CHL

Forwards

Cole Chandler, Shawinigan (QMJHL): GP: 60, G: 20, A: 30, Pts: 50; +/-: +12, PIM: 50

Chandler picked up an assist this week and tallied his 50th point of the season. He ranks third in points on the Cataractes, and he is committed to Northeastern for the 2026-27 season

The Cataractes play two games against Victoriaville this week: Friday at 7:00 PM and Saturday at 4:00 PM.

Cooper Simpson, Youngstown (USHL): GP: 57, G: 30, A: 37, Pts: 67; +/-: -1, PIM: 68

Simpson is tearing up the USHL in his first year with the Youngstown Phantoms. However, he was held off the scoresheet again this weekend. He does not have a point in March, yet he still ranks second in the USHL for scoring. 

Simpson and the Phantoms will play the Chicago Steel on Friday and Saturday night in Geneva, IL.

AHL/ECHL

Forwards

Riley Duran, Providence Bruins: GP: 58, G: 3, A: 11, Pts: 14; +/-: +12, PIM: 20

Duran scored his third goal of the season, and second of the month, on Wednesday. 

Alexis Gendron, Providence Bruins: GP: 5, G: 0, A: 0, Pts: 0; +/-: -1, PIM: 2

Dans Ločmelis, Providence Bruins: GP: 43, G: 15, A: 13, Pts: 28; +/-: +16, PIM: 6

Fabian Lysell, Providence Bruins: GP: 53, G: 15, A: 25, Pts: 40; +/-: +12, PIM: 47

Lysell was held off the scoresheet this week, and he did not play in the P-Bruins game on Sunday. On Saturday, he dropped his gloves, but it did not go to plan. He was held out of the lineup as he suffered a concussion in the fight. 

Matt Poitras, Providence Bruins: GP: 55, G: 12, A: 25, Pts: 37; +/-: +1, PIM: 42

Poitras had another three-point week for Providence. He scored on Sunday against Springfield and added two assists on Saturday against Hartford. He also moved from a minus-five to a plus-one this week.

Poitras has 10 points (4-6–10) in his last 11 games. 

Defensemen

Frédéric Brunet, Providence Bruins: GP: 58, G: 11, A: 19, Pts: 30; +/-: +21, PIM: 30

Brunet had an assist on Wednesday and another one on Saturday to hit the 30-point mark. His plus-minus also went from a plus-13 to a plus-21. 

Ty Gallagher, Providence Bruins: GP: 31, G: 7, A: 11, Pts: 18; +/-: +11, PIM: 19

Gallagher has continued his hot streak, adding a hat trick in Providence’s 7-0 win and picking up two more assists on Sunday. In both games, he was playing alongside Frédéric Brunet. He has 11 points (4-7–11) in his last seven games. He also got into a fight on Saturday. 

Gallagher did not play in the P-Bruins game on Wednesday. 

Loke Johansson, Maine Mariners: GP: 33, G: 1, A: 2, Pts: 3; +/-: +3, PIM: 20

Johansson played in the Mariners’ game on Sunday, marking his first game in the lineup since February 20. He was a plus-three during his 12-game stint with the Providence Bruins. 

Max Wanner, Providence Bruins: GP: 18, G: 0, A: 0, Pts: 0; +/-: +5, PIM: 7

Goaltenders

Luke Cavallin, Maine Mariners: GP: 25, Record: 13-7-4; GAA: 2.42, SV%: .915

Cavallin returned to the Maine Mariners and played in both games this weekend. He was inserted into Friday’s game during the second period and started on Saturday. He also has a 6-2-0 record with the P-Bruins, along with a 2.47 GAA and a .910 SV%.

Simon Zajicek, Providence Bruins: GP: 16, Record: 11-4-1; GAA: 2.25, SV%: .921

Zajicek returned to the lineup on Sunday. He allowed four goals on 27 shots in a 4-3 loss to Springfield (STL). It was his first game since February 1. 

The Providence Bruins are now first in the AHL with a 45-12-1-0 (W-L-OTL-SOL) record and 91 points. They were the first team in the East and the second team in the league (Grand Rapids) to clinch a playoff spot; they overtook the Griffins for the No. 1 spot this week. They will play Brett Harrison, Jackson Edward, and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (PHI) on Wednesday before a home-and-home with the Utica Comets (NJD). 

Maine has posted a 33-16-5-2 record and ranks fifth in the Eastern Conference. The Mariners won two of three this past week, falling to the Norfolk Admirals (WPG) on Friday night. The Mariners will play three games this coming week, starting on Wednesday night against the Adirondack Thunder (NJD). They will play the Worcester Railers (NYI) for a weekend home-and-home.
