The Hurricanes beat the Tampa Bay Lightning Saturday, 4-2, in their last game. In their previous five games, the Hurricanes have a 3-2-0 record, scoring four goals per game while allowing 3.4. The Hurricanes won the first meeting 4-1 back on December 9th. Carolina has a nine-point lead over the Pittsburgh Penguins for the number one seed in the Metropolitan Division.
Columbus Blue Jackets News & Notes:
The Blue Jackets beat the Flyers on Saturday, 2-1 in a shootout. In their last five games, the Blue Jackets have a 2-0-3 record, scoring 3.2 goals per game while conceding three. Columbus lost the first game between these two teams, but after Tuesday, they still have two more games against the Hurricanes, which will be important in their playoff push. The Blue Jackets are two points behind the Bruins for the final Eastern Conference Wild Card spot with a game in hand.
