Jessi Pierce, who covered the Minnesota Wild as a correspondent for NHL.com, and her three children were all killed in a house fire, the National Hockey League announced yesterday.

The reporter, 37, had covered the Wild for a decade.

Neighbors had called 911 on Saturday and told emergency responders they could see flames tearing through the roof.

The fatal blaze claimed their lives hours after Pierce had shared multiple photos of her children enjoying a special treat near their home in White Bear Lake, Minnesota.

She and the kids had visited Cup and Cone, a family-owned business that serves ice cream and frozen yogurt.

Pierce posted a photo of a lengthy queue of patient customers standing outside the popular stand, which opened for the start of the season on March 20.

“Cup and cone opening day 3/20/26,” she wrote, before sharing pics of her delighted kids tucking into their treats.

“Bag(s) secured,” she joked.

Upset followers noted that all four were tragically dead hours after their special outing.

“This is so sad. Look at all the smiles. Gone 12hrs later,” wrote one.

“Lord almighty, this is unbelievably tragic,” posted another.

“Precious angels,” said one follower.

Other upset parents – also with young children – said the final photos were haunting.

“It’s just eerie to see this picture now, knowing they would all go home to heaven that night as they went to bed. Just sad. I can’t stop thinking about it. Sometimes life doesn’t seem fair,” said one mom.

Another resident said the images were “forever etched into my memory.”

Tributes continue to pour in for Pierce.

Bill Price, vice president and editor-in-chief of NHL.com, said the entire team was “devastated and heartbroken by the loss of Jessi and her children.”

“Jessi’s love of her family and hockey was evident in the energy and passion she brought to her work for us,” he added.

“She was an absolute joy to talk to and work with. She will be deeply missed.”

Fire Chief Greg Peterson said it was important the community “supported each other during this difficult time.”

“Our hearts ache for those involved in this tragedy,” he added.

Her distraught podcast co-host, Kirsten Krull, described Pierce as like a “sister.”

“Family isn’t always blood, but the people you choose and that couldn’t have been more true,” Krull wrote on social media.

“Jessi was like another big sister to me. She had an unmatched work ethic and a huge heart.

“Most importantly, she was the best mom and loved her kids and family fiercely.”

The Minnesota Wild also mourned her loss on social media yesterday.

Minnesota is known as the State of Hockey, and the Wild have had one of the biggest fan bases since their inception in 2000.

“Jessi was a kind, compassionate person that cared deeply about her family and those around her,” it said.

“She served as an ambassador for the game of hockey during her time covering the Wild and the NHL.”

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A GoFundMe page has raised more than $62,000 to help her husband, Mike.

He is “now experiencing an unimaginably difficult time,” it says.
