The Chicago Blackhawks (27-31-13) continue their East Coast road trip against the Philadelphia Flyers (34-24-12) at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Thursday. It’s the second and final meeting of the 2025-26 season between the two teams.

In the first matchup on Dec. 23, the Flyers came into the United Center and earned a 3-1 victory. Travis Konecny, Noah Cates (PP), and Carl Grundstrom (EN) tallied the three goals for Philadelphia. Ryan Donato was the lone goal scorer of the game for the Blackhawks. Samuel Ersson stopped 20 of 21 shots faced to record the win.

Last time out, the Blackhawks kicked off their four-game road trip with a 4-3 win over the New York Islanders in Anton Frondell’s NHL debut on Tuesday. Frondell picked up his first NHL point with the primary assist on Ilya Mikheyev’s goal in the first period. Nick Lardis, Tyler Bertuzzi, and Frank Nazar also found the back of the net. Lardis added two assists for his first career multi-point game. Arvid Soderblom made 44 saves, including 21 in the third period.

The Flyers are coming off a 3-2 loss on home ice to the red-hot Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday. Sean Couturier and Jamie Drysdale were responsible for Philadelphia’s two goals in the game. It was the Flyers’ first regulation loss since Mar. 9 and only their fourth loss overall this month.

With 80 points through 70 games this season, Philadelphia’s playoff hopes are hanging on by a thread. They currently sit five points back of the Ottawa Senators for the second Wild Card playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, but the New York Islanders (85 points) and Detroit Red Wings (84 points) are also ahead of them. It’s going to take quite a run over the final 12 games for the Flyers to sneak into the postseason.

Here’s everything else to note before the puck drops at 6:00 p.m. CT in Philadelphia.
