Knies had a breakout season in 2024-25, putting up career highs in goals (29), assists (29) and points (58).
However, that doesn’t appear to be enough for the 22-year-old. His summer plans include heading home to train with former University of Minnesota teammates who have made the jump to the NHL.According to The Athletic’s Joshua Kloke, Knies will be working on adding more explosiveness to his skating, while also bulking up to become an even more powerful power forward.
That is easier said than done as there are several teams in the NHL coveting a player of Knies’ unique blend of size and talent. An offer sheet from another team isn’t a given, but there’s a very good chance someone makes him an offer that would be difficult to say no to.
