Wisconsin hockey won its first NCAA Tournament game in 16 years on Thursday, defeating Dartmouth 5-1.
Four third-period goals iced the victory for the Badgers. Following its disappointing Big Ten Tournament loss to Ohio State, the bounce-back performance came at the perfect time. Now, only one game separates Mike Hastings’ team from a Frozen Four appearance.
Up next: a showdown with No. 3 Michigan State.
The Badgers and Spartans squared off four times during the regular season. Wisconsin won the first two of those matchups, both on the road in East Lansing, Michigan. The Spartans then answered decisively, defeating the Badgers twice at the Kohl Center in mid-January.
The two teams will now meet for a rubber match with major stakes. With the hours counting down until the puck drops, here is where and when to watch the matchup.
