After the Philadelphia Flyers’ (36-24-12) big win in Detroit on Saturday, they return home to host the Dallas Stars (44-18-11) on Sunday, back in Philly at Xfinity Mobile Arena.
Philly is 4-1-0 in the last five games as they continue their hot play since the Olympic Break, pushing them into the playoff conversation. The Flyers needed to get red hot to give themselves a chance at the postseason, and did just that. They’re 7-2-1 over their last 10 games.

The Stars snapped a four-game losing streak on Saturday with their 6-3 win vs. the Pittsburgh Penguins. They are 1-3-1 over the last five games and 5-4-1 over the last 10 games. Dallas, of course, is in the gauntlet of a division that is the Central. They have their ticket to the playoffs punched already.
Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. EST at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Here is how the Flyers are expected to line up.

Game Notes
The Flyers played on Saturday night. With the quick turnaround, you typically will see both goalies during the back-to-back. Dan Vladar got the net in the Eastern Conference battle on Saturday. I would expect Sam Ersson to get the nod for Sunday’s game vs. the Dallas Stars of the Western Conference.

Speaking of Ersson, he has been doing his part to keep the Flyers in this thing. Both goalies have to play in order for the team to make a run. Ersson has not been having the season he or the Flyers wanted. However, since the Olympic break, something has clicked for Ersson. In the 5 games that he’s appeared in, the Flyers are 4-1-0. They’re 4-0-0 in games that Ersson earned the decision. He’s given up 7 goals on 101 shots, and has a .931 SV% and a 1.40 GAA since the Olympic break. It’s a tale of two seasons for Ersson.
Owen Tippett continued his scoring hot streak on Saturday. He scored a hat trick vs. the Red Wings, bringing his season total to 27. That puts him over 25 goals scored for the third time in his NHL career. 30 is not out of reach this year. So, Sunday starts the watch for Tippett to score 30 goals.
The Stars are a team in a much different position than the Flyers. They have already clinched a postseason birth and are comfortably in second place in the Central Division. They last played on Saturday, beating the Penguins 6-3. Jake Oettinger played on Saturday, so expect Casey DeSmith on Sunday.
