The Pittsburgh Penguins will be getting a big boost in their lineup for Monday’s big game against the New York Islanders.
Crosby missed Saturday’s loss to the Dallas Stars with an upper-body injury suffered during the Penguins’ previous game against the Ottawa Senators.
It was unclear what caused Crosby to leave the game.
Crosby played 6:39 before he was forced to exit. It was just his fifth game back with the Penguins after suffering an injury during the Olympics.
The Penguins captain has a team-leading 64 points and 28 goals in 61 games this season.
The Penguins enter Monday’s game against the Islanders sitting third in the Metro with 88 points — just one behind New York and tied with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
