The Toronto Maple Leafs‘ Auston Matthews, an Arizona native, leads the list at $13.25 million per season. The top 3 highest paid players in the NHL are centers, with the Colorado Avalanche‘s Nathan MacKinnon second at $12.6 million and the Oilers’ Connor McDavid third at $12.5 million.
New York Rangers LW Artemi Panarin is fourth on the list at $11.64 million, with Vancouver Canucks C Elias Pettersson rounding out the top 5 at $11.6 million in average annual salary.
