NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The fate of the Nashville Predators’ post-season rests in their upcoming five-game road trip.
With just eight games remaining in the regular season, the Preds currently have a one-point lead over the Los Angeles Kings for the final Wildcard spot in the Western Conference. Nashville plays L.A. twice over the next three games. Safe to say, this road trip is crucial for their playoff chances.
“I mean, it’s a challenge. But, this time of year, it doesn’t matter where you play,” said head coach Andrew Brunette.
“Guys who’ve been here through playoffs, a lot of times there’s more pressure than on the road.”
“A great challenge. Great road trip,” said forward Filip Forsberg.
“Obviously, something we’ve been looking forward to, especially coming down the stretch and seeing how the standings are unfolding. Five really big games starting Thursday with arguably the biggest one of the season.”
Thursday’s game in Los Angeles will begin after 9:30 p.m. CT.
The Preds are trying to get back to the playoffs after missing out on the post-season one year ago.
