A personnel move confirmed by Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens has completely changed everything for young goaltender Jakub Dobes.

The arrival of Marco Marciano has completely transformed the goalie’s game since January.

Before this internal promotion, before this personnel move, Dobes often struggled to find his positioning in net.

Former coach Éric Raymond was clearly unable to correct his movements, which were sometimes far too wide.

Journalist Stu Cowan pointed out how much more controlled the goalie appears in his movements today.

Marciano quickly made adjustments, and the results have been spectacular.

Coach Marciano explained that he defined a specific zone to dictate exactly where Dobes must stop his slides (to prevent him from drifting too far out of his crease).

Journalist Nicolas Cloutier notes that this new approach is propelling him directly among the NHL elite.

When looking at goals saved, Jakub Dobes is competing with the NHL’s best.

“Since January 28, the date of Marco Marciano’s promotion, only five goaltenders have performed better than Jakub Dobes in terms of goals saved.”

Jakub Dobes’ rookie rise places him alongside Carey Price and Patrick Roy in Canadiens history

It’s easy to forget, but he is technically still a rookie!

Recently, Dobes surpassed the legendary Patrick Roy in wins among rookies in the organization.

He has also surpassed Carey Price on this very prestigious historical list.

Passing names of that magnitude highlights this player’s massive impact on the team’s success.

Management made the right call by reuniting this duo that had already proven itself with the Laval Rocket.

Everything suggests the personnel move involving Éric Raymond and Marco Marciano was intended to reignite Samuel Montembeault, but in the end, it has propelled young Dobes to NHL starting goaltender status!

The player’s next challenge will be catching Georges Hainsworth and Steve Penney at the top of this select list, nothing less!
