Senators head coach Travis Green had no update on Kleven’s status after the game, though he did tell reporters that he wasn’t “expecting great news.”
Kleven was injured in the first period when a hard slapshot careened up and appeared to hit him in the head area. He was able to skate off under his own power.
He finished the game with 1:48 of ice time.
Kleven, 24, has three goals and 18 points while appearing in 69 games this season.
Without Kleven, the Senators still managed to pull off a huge 4-1 win over the Sabres. The victory moved Ottawa into the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.
