Patrick Kane became the Highest Scoring American Player of all time on Thursday. The Blackhawks legend scored in Detroits win over the Flyers.

On Friday, April 2, Patrick Kane recorded his 1,392nd point in his career, officially passing Brett Hull for most by an American player. While Kane technically passed Mike Modano for the all-time American-born points title, Hull identified as American despite being Canadian born. Regardless, Kane stands alone at the top, also passing Hull for 26th all-time in league scoring. The milestone for Kane also comes in the same season as his 500th goal, which he scored on January 8, 2026.

The Milestone Goal

In a matchup against the Philadelphia Flyers, Patrick Kane did what he does best. Once again, break Philly fans’ hearts. After an in-air battle at the red line, the puck bounced on the ice. Kane skated past the blue line with former Blackhawk Alex DeBrincat on his side. “Showtime” kept the puck for himself and put it into the back of the net. Kane later added point 1,393 as well after a three-point performance in the victory.

As a matter of fact, the game was a big win for Detroit players, who find themselves in the midst of a heated Eastern Conference Wild Card race. Detroit sits tied with the Ottawa Senators in points for the second Wild Card spot and remains on the outside looking in as of April 2.

Congratulations Kaner

1,392. A lot of points. And a lot of them were scored in a Chicago Blackhawks uniform. Over 16 seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks, Patrick Kane had 1,225 points. Before being traded to the New York Rangers at the 2022 trade deadline, “Showtime” finished with the second-most points and assists in Blackhawks history, only behind Stan Mikita. Since joining the Detroit Red Wings, Patrick Kane has not stopped his scoring with 153 points in 181 games. Now, Kane has cemented himself as the greatest American-born player of all time. Congratulations, Patrick Kane!
