Utah Mammoth Drop Seven Goals On Canucks

Vancouver was the first to get on the board with a Linus Karlsson goal about two and a half minutes after puck drop. But the momentum died as quickly as it arrived for the Canucks.

With just over six minutes left in the first period, Kailer Yamamoto got the guys started and evened the score at 1-1.

They weren’t done before the first intermission, though.

With 90 seconds left in the period, Clayton Keller ripped a shot on net from the right faceoff circle to give the Mammoth their first lead of the night.

That wouldn’t be the first time Keller’s name was called, either.

After Vancouver scored an equalizer of their own early in the second period, Keller would once again light the lamp with a lead-taker.

The goal also bagged the fourth multi-goal game of the season for Utah’s captain.

About five minutes later, Dylan Guenther decided he wanted to get in on the fun.

Off assists from John Marino adn Logan Cooley, the Mammoth opened its first two-goal advantage of the game.

Similar to the first and second periods, Vancouver would be first to get on the board in the third.

And like clockwork, the Mammoth would quickly rebut. This time, it was Keller assisting the scorer as Lawson Crouse put Utah back up by two.

As if the performance wasn’t sweet enough, Liam O’Brien added a little spice with his third goal of the season.

In transition, O’Brien deked the goaltender before sliding the puck into the net with the backhand.

Last but not least, Keller added the cherry on top to both the win and his own game, with an open-netter to secure the hat trick.

It was Keller’s first hatty as a member of the Utah Mammoth. His last came on January 22, 2023.

The win over Vancouver marked the fifth time this season that Utah has scored at least seven goals in a win.
