It was an exciting season in Hockey Valley this year.
Penn State’s men’s hockey team officially wrapped up its season after its loss to Minnesota-Duluth in the NCAA Regional semifinals. The Nittany Lions finished their season 22-14-4.
Of course, our photographers were at Pegula Ice Arena and barns around the country to capture shots, goals, celebrations, and all the in-betweens. Let’s take a look back at the Nittany Lions’ season on the ice through the lens of our photographers.
This season, both the Columbus Blue Jackets’ 14th pick in the NHL Draft, Jackson Smith, and projected No. 1 draft pick Gavin McKenna appeared with the Nittany Lions.
The Nittany Lions fought tooth and nail each and every game.

At each faceoff, Penn State fought for the puck and won 50.9% of the time.

Head coach Guy Gadowsky’s group scored 136 goals across the season compared to the 117 goals allowed.
And with each goal came some electric celebrations.
This year was historic, with the first Division I men’s hockey game played at Beaver Stadium.

Over the course of the season, there were a few scrums here and there.
Although the season didn’t end how fans or the team may have wanted, it was still a great year nonetheless.
