While this new ranking includes excellent news for Montreal Canadiens fans, one glaring omission is causing total confusion.

In addition, Oliver Kapanen’s hard work is being rewarded, as he has also secured a strong position on the list.

However, it is Dobes’ complete absence from the famous “top 10” that is raising eyebrows.
He’s not just absent from the top three or the top five—he’s missing from the top ten and even from some top fifteen lists.

With numbers like these for a rookie goaltender, it is inconceivable that his name is not among the top 10—especially when compared to other prospects at his position, such as goaltender Jesper Wallstedt.
Despite this clear injustice toward Dobes, the overall picture remains extremely positive for the organization.
Had the goaltender been properly evaluated, the Canadiens would currently have three of the league’s top ten rookies in the NHL within their lineup which is remarkable!
Jakub Dobes, 24, is a 6-foot-5 goaltender who was selected in the 5th round by the Montreal Canadiens in 2020.
