Game Preview

There are only 5 more games on the Kraken’s schedule, and with our eternal luck, we face the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Knights are…odd. They just canned Bruce Cassidy for John Tortorella, which seems to have immediately produced the results they were looking for after spending a lot of the post-olympic break kind of playing poorly. I can sympathize with that and that alone!

But the rest I have nothing to sympathize for. Vegas can forever kick rocks.

The thing we’re looking for now is process. The defense has been atrocious, so the offense needs to start picking up the slack. If not? Then it’s time for some players to make some cases for returning to this organization. Ron Francis’ vision for this team, as far as we know, no longer applies after yesterday. Winning would be nice, we know that our Zoidbergs are certainly backed up, but at this point that’s far from the only thing we’re worried about. We need to see Lane Lambert’s system effectively reboot and start up without catastrophic failure. Let’s see this team show some spark.

After all, they have a lot of negatives going for them. Their cursed third sweaters which I’ve slowly come to love and would love to see them iterate on (DO THE RADAR PING FOR THE WAIST STRIPE), their miserable record post-olympic break, their goaltending falling into disrepair, and they’re facing a team that always seems to have their goat.

Surely, this is enough negatives to hit stack underflow and get a win, right? Surely the odds have been so stacked against them that it turns from crushing force to motivational tool, right?

Right?

Even if it might mess with their draft odds…it’d still be nice to take a win or two off of these twerps.

LET’S GO KRAKEN, LET’S GO SQUIDS
