The Anaheim Ducks have officially gotten Roger McQueen’s signature.

He has signed a three-year entry level contract with the Ducks, they announced on Saturday night.

The announcement comes as the Ducks prepare to play the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL playoffs.

And that raised a question: Can McQueen appear in the postseason for Anaheim now?

Can Roger McQueen play in the NHL playoffs?

No, McQueen won’t be playing in the NHL playoffs.

The Ducks made clear that the contract he signs begins with the 2026-27 season.

McQueen is currently on an amateur tryout contract with the AHL’s San Diego Gulls and has three points (one goal, two assists) in six games.

He was the No. 10 overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft out of Providence College, where he had 27 points (11 goals, 16 assists) in 36 games this season.

McQueen previously played in the WHL with the Brandon Wheat Kings.

He’s a 6-foot-6 forward who has also represented Canada at various youth levels of international hockey.

McQueen has an exciting future in Anaheim, but it won’t start until next season.
