A sea of fans in their Orange jerseys, foam fingers, the mascot Wild Wing leading the crowd in cheers — the only thing missing at the Honda Center on Monday night were the Anaheim Ducks.

The players were in Canada for the first of the Ducks’ playoff games against the Edmonton Oilers, but plenty of their fans filled the arena here to cheer them on during a giant watch party.

A second watch party will be hosted Wednesday night, April 22, for the series’ second game, before the Ducks fly home for Friday’s Game 3.

Admission is free, but fans need to reserve tickets at AnaheimDucks.com/WatchParties. Monday night’s party reached capacity with about 5,000 in attendance, either standing on the arena floor or sitting in the lower bowl seats.

The team has also opened a Ducks Playoff House in Orange for the rest of the postseason run. Open daily, it is free and features photo backdrops, team merch and spaces to hang out, among other specially scheduled activities. Information: AnaheimDucks.com/House.
