Leafs prospect Easton Cowan continues to dazzle in a London Knights jersey as his big night propelled his team into the Memorial Cup Finals this weekend.

After claiming their second straight J. Ross Robertson Cup as champions of the OHL, the London Knights also booked their second straight trip to the Memorial Cup Finals after a scintillating performance led by Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Easton Cowan.

The Knights made extremely easy work of the OHL playoffs as they swept the first three rounds before defeating Oshawa in the championship round in just 5 games. For their efforts, they were awarded a spot in the Memorial Cup alongside the WHL champions in Medicine Hat, the QMJHL champions in Moncton, and the hosts in Rimouski.

Cowan delivered a 2-point effort in their 5-2 win on Friday night against the Moncton Wildcats to book their ticket into the final against the Medicine Hat Tigers, who had previously defeated the Knights in their round-robin game earlier in the week.

This has been on the minds of many in London as they hope to exact revenge after they fell in the Memorial Cup finals last year to the Saginaw Spirit. Even though they won the OHL championship in just 18 games last year, the Memorial Cup defeat stung for all players involved, especially Cowan.

The former first round pick scored 29 goals and 69 points in 46 regular season games before turning on the jets in the playoffs and exploding for 13 goals and 39 points in just 17 contests. Additionally, he’s added 2 goals and 6 points through the first 3 games of the Memorial Cup and will be looking for more in the championship game.

Puck drop will take place on Sunday in Rimouski at 7:00 p.m ET. Look for Cowan and some of the other seniors on the team like Denver Barkey and Oliver Bonk to come flying out of the gates as they hope to secure the Memorial Cup in what will be their final game in a Knights jersey.
