For the second time in less than a week, the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Minnesota Wild are both hosting playoff games in the Twin Cities, but this time its for a spot in the next round.

Both teams currently hold a 3-2 series edge over their first round opponent heading into tonight’s games.

The Wild will kick things off with a 6:30 p.m. puck drop at Grand Casino Arena before the Timberwolves wrap up the night with tip off scheduled for 8:30 p.m. at the Target Center.

Coming into this first round match up, both teams were considered slight underdogs to advance but they are now one win away from keeping their season alive and punching their ticket to the next round.

The Timberwolves will need to rely on their role players to step up against the Denver Nuggets after losing Anthony Edwards and Donte Divincenzo to injuries on Saturday night.

Divincenzo suffered a season ending Achilles injury and Edwards will be out for multiple weeks with a bone bruise and a hyperextension in his left knee.

Momentum for the Wild couldn’t better, as they come into game 6 against the Dallas Stars on a two game win streak after game 3’s heartbreaking loss in double overtime.
