The New York Rangers will be facing off against their Eastern Conference Rivals, the Florida Panthers, in a continuation of the Winter Classic series. The Winter Classic will be taking place, ironically, at Loan Depot Park, home of the Miami Marlins.
The New York Rangers have made a major announcement regarding the 2026 Winter Classic. The Blueshirts will have their hands full as they once again battle against the Florida Panthers.
Fans will be eager to see all the action, not just from the couch, but those who can make the journey will be able to buy tickets very soon!
While the event itself takes place on January 2nd, 2026, NHL fans can buy tickets for the Winter Classic on June 4th.
The last Winter Classic featured the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues, keeping the exciting rivalry alive between an original-six team and their expansion-era (1960s) era rivals.
Now, the Rangers will get a chance to get even with the Florida Panthers, who are now Stanley Cup Finals-bound once again, taking on Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers.
This is another outdoor game for the Rangers organization to notch on their bedpost, as they’ve been featured in the Winter Classic before, with a perfect record of 2-0 against the Buffalo Sabres (2018) and Philadelphia Flyers (2012).
While Henrik Lundqvist won’t be in the crease, we’ll be witness to the spectacle that is the Winter Classic, full of pomp & circumstance.
The ceremony should prove to be engaging, considering the climate and the ironic lack of winter clothing we’d typically see, like in Wrigley Field this season.
