According to recent reports former New York Rangers head coach David Quinn has a good chance of returning to the Rangers organization this season as they team looks to complete their coaching their staff.
The New York Rangers wasted no time to hire “Premier coach” Mike Sullivan shortly after they announced Peter Laviolette’s departure from the organization after failing to make the playoffs this past season.
Unfortunately, the New York Rangers will have a little more work on their hands this offseason to fill out Mike Sullivan’s coaching staff as Rangers former assistant coach Dan Muse left the organization to become the head coach if the Pittsburgh Penguins.
While Sullivan will be looking for coaches who can produce wins, he is looking at familiar faces we’ve seen before. One of those is former Rangers head coach David Quinn, who once coached the team from 2018-2021.
David Quinn’s record in New York wasn’t terrible, but wasn’t great either as he managed to tally a 208-96-87-25, .522 record during his time with the Rangers.
Along with that, former Bruins Head Coach Joe Sacco, who produced a dismal record with a roster worn down through attrition and bad management, could end up offering his talents as an assistant in New York. In Boston, he had a record of 62-25-30-7.
