Magdalen College School’s first XI boys hockey team have been crowned national school champions after a 5-1 win in the competition’s final.

The team defeated Charterhouse at the Lee Valley Stadium in London on Friday, April 25, cheered on by a large crowd of supporters.

The first 10 minutes were goalless, but Magdalen College School managed to take a 1-0 into half-time, thanks to a goal from captain Julian.

There was more action in the second half with penalties, saves, and three goals in the final 15 minutes, resulting in the final score of 5-1.

This is the fourth consecutive year a Magdalen College School team has made it to the national finals.

The team also played in the Oxford versus Cambridge Varsity Match earlier this year.

The under-16A, uner-14A, and under-12A teams also enjoyed successful seasons, with the latter two winning the Oxfordshire County Cup in their categories, and the under-12As also being crowned southern champions.
