The Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers will be battling it out in the Stanley Cup finals, as a rematch. The Edmonton Oilers have established the lead in the series after a 4-3 OT victory. New York Rangers legend Henrik Lundqvist had an interesting prediction for the 2025 SCF.

Not even Sam Bennett could stop the Oilers, who are out for revenge after losing the 2024 Finals to the Panthers, who came armed with Brad Marchand and Seth Jones this time around.

For the longest time, it seems like it’s run through Florida, with both teams establishing dominant performances in the postseason, with the Panthers and Lightning. But for Rangers legend, Henrik Lundqvist, who believes the cup is headed back to Alberta.
Lundqvist believes Connor McDavid will be the “it” factor for the Oilers, who could win the Cup this year.
He joins the ranks of Wayne Gretzky, who not only won multiple cups in Edmonton but has family working in the organization still to this day.
In 67 games this season, McDavid is one of the best ever to put on an Oilers jersey, scoring 100 points (26 goals, 74 assists) and is part of the dynamic duo with Leon Draisaitl, who will fight to the end to win the Cup.
It’s completely shocking considering how all-in the majority of people are on the Panthers, who, after winning only one Cup, are failing to overcome recency bias.
