Interesting official statement from the Montreal Canadiens.
In the past few hours, the organization subtly confirmed that defenseman Lane Hutson is back in town.
Because of a special visit with young hockey players.
Jakub Dobes, Lane Hutson and Jacob Fowler stopped by the Montreal Canadiens Hockey School.
Dobes was the first to spend time with the next generation of hockey players, another gesture that shows his continued involvement with fans.
A few days later, Hutson and Fowler did the same, greeting the young players at the school and bringing plenty of smiles to the families in attendance.
The timing of this appearance works well for Dobes, who is heading into a defining season.
He is beginning his first full campaign as the Canadiens’ No. 1 goaltender.
Remember, he led all NHL rookie goaltenders last season before helping carry the team all the way to the Eastern Conference Final.
Expectations will be high, but he looks ready.
Jacob Fowler pushes for Canadiens backup role as Lane Hutson prepares for another big season
Hutson is heading into an equally important season.
After establishing himself as one of the NHL’s 10 best defensemen in his second year, he’ll have to back it up and help the team reach another level.
Fowler, meanwhile, continues to build his reputation both on the ice and in the community.
Could he be the Montreal Canadiens’ backup goaltender this season?
These visits are a simple reminder that beyond the stats and expectations, these players remain close to their youngest fans.
