The New York Rangers have made a surprising announcement today involving one of their players, in particular their longest-tenured veteran forward.

Today the New York Rangers made an announcement celebrating veteran forward Chris Kreider as it’s his birthday today.

Today is Kreider’s birthday, and he turns 34-years old and the New York Rangers made a special post on social media wishing him a happy birthday as the star was born on April 30th 1991.

#NYR Chris Kreider turns 34 today 🥳

Chris Kreider was originally drafted by the New York Rangers in the first round (19th Overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Since than, the veteran forward has spent his entire career thus far with the Rangers, and has just finished his 13th season with the organization.

During his time, Kreider has managed to tally a total of 582 points, 326 being goals and 256 being assists, throughout 883 games played.

However, despite the veterans stats his name has been surrounded by trade rumours this past season as his production has significantly decreased over the last few seasons.

But trading the veteran hasn’t been easy, as Kreider went on to reveal earlier in the season that he had back problems, but most recently he revealed that he suffered from an illness that led him to experience vertigo, along with sustaining a hand injury in the first game after the 4 Nations Face-off.

Something not a lot of organizations are looking for at the moment.

Oh behalf of everyone at NY Rangers Insider we’d like to wish Chris Kreider a very Happy Birthday.
