The Anaheim Ducks are the home of former Rangers players such as Jacob Trouba and Chris Kreider. If Chris Drury has his way, though, the New York Rangers won’t be done trading talent out of the organization yet, as there should be more to come.

While the Anaheim Ducks are poised to take over the Pacific Division, adding some muscle to the lineup, the New York Rangers look to give the lineup a facelift.

That’ll require more players being moved as the offseason progresses. GM Chris Drury could end up moving out three more Rangers before or during free agency.

Recent reports suggest that K’Andre Miller wants a contract that takes him to UFA status, while Drury and the Rangers are thinking otherwise.

As a result, the Rangers have placed him on the trade block, and the RFA could find himself in a new uniform for the right price. Rebuilding teams who need a top-four LHD could find him a suitable option with team control.

The New York Rangers could end up moving on from their 1st-overall pick in 2020. With the rumor mill swirling with his name, he could find a fresh start and maybe, just maybe, find consistency missing from the start of his NHL career. He had a breakout year in 2023-24 with 57 points and would quickly regress.

Clearing $7.45 million AAV off the Rangers’ books would be a great move for Drury and the team.

Soucy may have struggled during his short stint in the New York Rangers lineup, but teams always need blueliners with size and some physicality. He could be a good addition for teams needing a 6’5″ defenseman with shutdown capabilities.
