The Dallas Stars appear to be dealing with an illness as their regular-season finale approaches.
According to head coach Pete DeBoer, the team is battling the flu and it was announced on Saturday afternoon that Mason Marchment will miss the game vs. Utah due to illness. DeBoer initially revealed the development after the team’s morning skate Saturday.

Esa Lindell and Thomas Harley are also set to miss the matchup on Saturday due to maintenance.

The showdown with Utah is key for a Stars team looking to snap a four-game losing streak. Dallas struggled to find its footing during its last outing, falling 4-0 to the Central Division-leading Winnipeg Jets at home.
Dallas could learn its first-round playoff fate Saturday night. A meeting with the Colorado Avalanche will be locked in if any of the following scenarios occurs: 1. Winnipeg gets at least one point against the Chicago Blackhawks. 2. Any result from Stars-Utah other than a Stars regulation win.

Casey DeSmith is slated to start in goal for the Stars against Utah.
