The NHL season has concluded with the Florida Panthers winning the Stanley Cup for a second consecutive year over the Edmonton Oilers, this time doing so in six games with a 5-1 victory in Game 6.
The Panthers join an elite company of organizations to win back-to-back championships, with the last one’s being their Florida counterparts in the Tampa Bay Lightning, who won in 2020 and 2021.
With the 2024-25 campaign over, it’s now time to turn our attention to the offseason, which starts with the 2025 NHL Draft taking place next week from L.A. Live’s Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

When is the 2025 NHL Draft?
Date: Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28
The 2025 NHL Draft gets underway in nine days, with the first round starting on Friday, June 27 at 7 p.m., with rounds two through seven beginning at 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 28 in L.A.
TV channel, streaming options for 2025 NHL Draft
TV: ESPN
Streaming: ESPN+
The first round of the NHL Draft will be televised on ESPN and streaming on ESPN+. The remaining six rounds the following day will air on NHL Network and can be streamed on ESPN+ in the United States.
Who’s the odds-on-favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick in NHL Draft?

Similar to last year where Macklin Celebrini was the consensus top choice for the San Jose Sharks, it’s the same a year later, with Ontario Hockey League (OHL) defenseman Matthew Schaefer the overwhelming favorite to be selected by the Islanders with the No. 1 overall pick and fellow OHL center Michael Misa slotted in to be selected No. 2 overall by the Sharks.
BetMGM currently doesn’t offer betting options for the first two picks, with the earliest option the third overall pick and the draft position of a handful of players projected to be picked early in the first round.
