COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Columbus Blue Jackets head coach Dean Evason could have a busy May.

The Sports Network’s Darren Dreger reported Wednesday that Evason will coach Canada in the upcoming Men’s World Hockey Championship.

Dreger added that Calgary Flames head coach Ryan Huska also is slated to be on Canada’s bench. San Jose Sharks coach Ryan Warsofsky will coach Team USA.

The tournament begins May 9 and games will be played in Sweden and Denmark.

Evason went 40-33-9 in his first season as head coach for the Jackets, just missing out on the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
