The Minnesota Wild announced they have hired a new head coach for its AHL affiliate in Des Moines.Greg Cronin will take the helm of the Iowa Wild, replacing Brett McLean, who left for an assistant job with Vancouver Canucks. Cronin spent the last two seasons as head coach for the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks. Despite improving the team’s record each of the past two years, Anaheim fired Cronin in April in order to bring in NHL veteran Joel Quenneville.Cronin has nearly 40 years of coaching experience in the NHL, AHL and NCAA.
