Hurricanes Predicted to Trade For All-Star to Bolster Roster originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

The Carolina Hurricanes came up short in the Eastern Conference Final once again and are heading into the offseason with some questions. Carolina has the tools to be very successful, but they seem to be missing one piece of the puzzle.

This could see the front office be very active this summer, and it could mean big-game hunting. There are a few star players who could be available via the trade market, and Carolina could be primed to make a move.

NHL writer Adam Gretz of Bleacher Report listed the Hurricanes as a landing spot for Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson. There have been reports out about Dallas being willing to move Robertson this summer.

“Just months after the Hurricanes and Stars completed a blockbuster trade involving Mikko Rantanen, let’s put them together for another blockbuster involving Robertson…the Hurricanes are loaded with future first-round picks, largely due to getting a pair of them from Dallas in the Rantanen trade. This could be an opportunity for Dallas to get one of them back, while also adding some serious young talent into the orgnaization,” Gretz wrote.

The two sides have shown the ability to make a deal before, and they could link up once again.

Robertson could be exactly what the Hurricanes need to finally get them over the hump. His ability as both a passer and scorer could be the missing ingredient for the Hurricanes.

This past season, Robertson scored 35 goals and 45 assists for Dallas. If the Stars are serious about trading him, the Hurricanes should look to make a legitimate offer.
