COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The Columbus Blue Jackets will be celebrating its 25th anniversary during the 2025-26 season and now have its preseason schedule set.
Fresh off its best season since 2018-19, the Blue Jackets will be hoping they can break a five-year playoff drought and that journey begins in the preseason.

Columbus will play four games in four days to kick start its preseason, starting with a home game against the St. Louis Blues on Sept. 21 at 5 p.m. The Jackets will then play the Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Washington Capitals twice each before starting the regular season.

Sept. 21 – vs Blues (5 p.m.)
Sept. 22 – vs Sabres (7 p.m.)
Sept. 23 – at Sabres (7 p.m.)
Sept. 24 – vs Penguins (7 p.m.)
Sept. 27 – at Penguins (7 p.m.)
Sept. 30 – vs Capitals (7 p.m.)
Oct. 4 – at Capitals (7 p.m.)
The 2025-26 NHL regular season schedule is expected to be announced in July. Columbus missed out on a playoff spot on the final day of the season after the Montreal Canadiens claimed the last wild card berth in the Eastern Conference.

Next up on the league’s schedule is the NHL Entry Draft from Los Angeles with the first round taking place on Friday. The New York Islanders have the first selection in the draft. The Blue Jackets are picking 14th in the first round.
