The Boston Bruins might have found their next great center in James Hagens.
The Boston College star was available to the B’s with the No. 7 pick in the first round of the 2025 NHL Draft on Friday night, and the Original Six franchise didn’t hesitate to take him.
There were a couple highly rated centers still available when the B’s were on the clock, and they decided on Hagens, whose elite playmaking ability and excellent skating should help him make a seamless transition to the NHL at some point.
Hagens tallied 37 points (11 goals, 26 assists) in 37 games for the Eagles last season. He’s the Bruins’ highest draft pick since they selected Tyler Seguin at No. 2 overall in 2010.
